About the Creator
Edward Kelly | Solo Web Developer & Musician
Neko Name Wheel is built, developed, and maintained independently by Edward Kelly, a solo web developer based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
With a professional background as a global cruise ship pianist and singer, Edward spent years witnessing firsthand how music and timing captivate live audiences. This unique intersection of live entertainment and technical interest inspired the development of Neko Name Wheel. The goal was simple: strip away the bloat, accounts, and heavy tracking cookies found on corporate tools to deliver a frictionless, high-performance canvas utility for teachers, event organizers, and digital content creators.
Why the Lucky Cat?
The platform's mascot, Neko, is inspired by the traditional Japanese Maneki-neko (beckoning lucky cat). Just as the traditional figure welcomes good fortune, our digital wheels are engineered to bring fairness, clean presentation, and an element of suspense to random selection processes.
Our Technical Commitment
Unlike complex, ad-heavy corporate alternatives, Neko Name Wheel adheres strictly to high-utility performance guidelines:
- Zero Friction: No user registrations, account paywalls, or mandatory onboarding flows.
- Privacy-First Design: Core settings and lists are stored locally on your device browser utilizing client-side canvas scripts.
- Lightweight Overhead: Written in pure, semantic HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript to guarantee flawless performance across weak mobile signals and classroom smart boards alike.
